VULNERABLE ADULTS PROTECTION POLICY.

THE BEXHILL OPEN TOURNAMENT IS COMMITTED TO CREATING AND MAINTAINING THE SAFEST POSSIBLE ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND DISABLED PERSONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME OF OUTDOOR FLAT GREEN BOWLS

WE DO THIS BY:

* RECOGNISING THAT ALL CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS, DISABLED PERSONS AND VULNERABLE ADULTS HAVE THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM FROM HARM.

* SAFEGUARDING AND PROMOTING THE INTERESTS AND WELL BEING OF CHILDREN YOUNG PERSONS, DISABLED PERSONS AND VULNERABLE ADULTS.

* TAKING ALL REASONABLE PRACTICAL STEPS TO PROTECT CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS, DISABLED PERSONS AND VULNERABLE ADULTS FROM ABUSE DISCRIMINATION AND DEGRADING TREATMENT.

* RESPECTING THE RIGHTS, WISHES AND FEELINGS OF CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS, DISABLED PERSONS AND VULNERABLE ADULTS.

* APPOINTING A PROTECTION OFFICER WHO WILL TAKE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY FOR CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS, DISABLED PERSONS AND VULNERABLE ADULTS SAFETY AND ACT AS THE MAIN POINT OF CONTACT FOR CHILDREN, YOUNG PERSONS, DISABLED PERSONS. VULNERABLE ADULTS – PARENTS, GUARDIANS, CARERS, OUTSIDE AGENCIES AND COACHES.

* ISSUING PROTECTION AND SAFETY AWARENESS POLICY GUIDELINES TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE AND HELPERS.

* REVIEWING, AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR, THE EFFECTIVENESS OF OUR PROTECTION AND SAFETY AWARENESS POLICY GUIDELINES.
